Superior Grip
100% Solids, Skid-Resistant, Safety Surfacing

SUPERIOR GRIP is a 100% solids, three component epoxy compound. SUPERIOR GRIP produces a highly skid-resistant surface with silicon carbide granules on dry and damp surfaces.
    Uses
SUPERIOR GRIP is used on areas where slippery conditions exist such as ramps, stairs, walkways and docks. SUPERIOR GRIP may be used to protect floors against water, chemicals and heavy traffic.
    Advantages
  • 100% solids, no VOC.
  • Epoxy liquids are mixed in easy to use 1:1 by volume ratio.
  • Non-skid aggregate is extremely hard and skid resistant
  • Excellent water and chemical resistance.
  • May be applied to damp surfaces and under high humidity conditions.
    Surface Preparation
Concrete Surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of all foreign materials such as oils, grease, loose paint, dust and laitance. This may be accomplished by sand blasting or scarifying, followed by an air blast to remove dust and debris from the application area.

New concrete surfaces should be acid etched, rinsed thoroughly and allowed to dry.

Steel Surfaces should be sand blasted to SSPC SP-10 near white. Water blast or mechanical abrading is an alternative method, as long as all rust, scale, paint and other foreign materials are removed. Steel must be coated the same day as cleaned.

Wood Surfaces should be roughened by sanding.
    Mixing & Application
    1. Stir parts A & B
    2. Add contents of parts A & B to mixing bucket supplied.
    3. Mix thoroughly, being sure to scrape the sides and bottom with the mixing paddle supplied.
    4. Apply to floor immediately after mixing by pouring the mixed material over the surface and spreading it uniformly with a brush, roller, or notched trowel @ 100 square feet per unit. Mixed SUPERIOR GRIP has a working time of 30-45 minutes @ 75°F.
    5. Sprinkle silicon carbide granules evenly over the surface before coating starts to set (within 30 minutes)
    6. If less than unit quantity is to be applied, mix liquid components in a 1:1 ratio by volume and spread @ 100 square feet per gallon.
    Limitations
  • Do NOT apply when temperature is below 50°F.
  • Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.
  • Do NOT place over working control joint.
    Clean Up
Clean tools and equipment immediately with a suitable solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner.
    Caution
For professional use only. Epoxy systems can cause delayed dermatitis. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. See Material Safety Data Sheet for proper handling and required safety equipment.
